I would love to invite you to an opening of an exhibition at International Arts Group Gallery, 4161 N Damen Ave, Chicago.

IAG and Phantom Gallery are going to create exhibitions and collaborations in Chicago and in Germany. The artists, participating in the group will be including artists, performance artists, dancers and musicians for several larger projects to be performed and presented in Chicago and in Germany.
The projects in Germany this year and also last year with German, Holland and American artists, creating Intersections and multi faceted exhibitions, plein air painting, excursions and performances are going to be featured for culminating events and panel discussions during artist month in October at various venues in Chicago,i.e. Elastic Gallery, Mass Hall, the International Art Group etc.
This summer we are participating in residencies during August 17. - 20. 2012 in Germany at Atelier Artefact with Rolf Schuetzek in Syke and we will then present our projects August 20 - Aug 28. at Renate Brummer’s contacts in community and cultural centers in Berlin.

For our one, two or three week residencies in Germany during August 2012, I will need you to send me by Monday, June30, a bio, mission statement, a picture of yourself and a piece of art to be included for a press release in a newspaper in Berlin, and I promised Renate (curator in Berlin) I will send this to her Monday evening April 16.Also send me your complete contact info ( ph nr. email. website, mailing address etc.)

Wanderlust: Chicago-Berlin 2012 is our project this summer and here is the timeline:
1.
Aug.13 -Aug.15. I can welcome and guide you in Hannover, the Youth Hostel ( app. $20 night) is close to the Mashlake and old town and it is my hometown. I would meet and greet you at the airport and we will visit with friends and see the city and the museums.
Aug. 17. We will travel to Syke either by train or rented car (30 RT), sharing expenses, group tickets via train (20 Euro RT a person)
In Syke, we will all stay at the the Youth Hostel ( Euro 17, night includes bkfst) next to the forest.
Aug. 17. - Aug. 20. residency at Rolfs Atelier Atelier Artefact( I am collecting contributions for use of his studio (minimum donationEuro10 per person for theses days) He has agreat work space to create paintings, drawings, sculpture, film, performance etc) We will document the process via photo and video. We have the opportunity to collaborate and also to create Trans Acting. teaching a language via an activity.
Residency at Atelier Artefact with Rolf Schuetzek curator ATelier Artefact, open air painting, photography , music collaborations,sculpture making, film making etc, and self directed residencies to create work for an exhibition in Berlin and possibly in Chicago. We will create our own daily agenda together and apart.

Aug.21.- Aug. 28 time in Berlin, stay at Youth hostel, hotel or friends place.
The first few days will deal with the set up and preparation of the presentations and exhibitions, Aug 23. 7pm at a public library in Wilhelmsruhe in East Berlin and Aug. 24. and 25. afternoon and evening exhibition and presentations at Flotte Lotte, these events are organized by our artist friend and curator Renate Brummer in Wilhelmsruhe, ( I am collecting €10 per person for the donation for these venues).
Alpha Bruton and I will approach the German Consulate this year again for funding of the printing for a catalog for a presentation of your work here in Chicago in the fall, and we still have to find a venue for October or Nov this year, if you know of one please let us know ASAP. The administrative cost for the creation of the catalog would be TBA( no more than $40 per person) to be paid to Alpha Bruton.

Dancers and performance artists, you are also invited to join me for my full performance,"Der Hirsch und sein Volk" dance performance with masks, presented by the Kreismuseum Syke 3.Aug. 12 at 3pm and for this you need to participate in rehearsals at least one week prior in Hannover and Skyke. I am inviting you to start learning about movement theater at some of the free classes I am teaching here in Chicago, starting again in May ( They will take place in May,Sunday mornings 11am at the Phantom Gallery 4161 N. Damen).
